A Personal Christmas Message 2014

Thomas Kinkade- A Christmas Welcome (“A Christmas Welcome” by Thomas Kinkade)

In many cultures, people greet each other with “Peace upon you”. The greatest gift in the world is peace which, first of all, comes from inner peace and the peace of one’s mind. However, as the events in 2014 have shown us clearly, peace is nothing to be taken for granted. Although wars have haunted our planet for centuries, new weapons are being invented of which the worst certainly is the manipulation of the crowds. Truthfulness and honesty, once rare and highly cherished virtues, are now being thrown aboard for reasons of greed and control. These developments are very sad and lamentable, yet there is hope as more and more people are beginning to open their eyes. Strangely, this is often not the case in the modern and so-called “progressive” cities, but in neglected rural and half-forgotten areas in the countryside, regions isolated from every instrument of power and coercion. It is this truthfulness to oneself, to your families and friends, and to the society that I would like to send from my own native village to everybody.

The year 2014 has been a very challenging period, not only on a global scale, but also for myself. Despite all ups and downs and many unforeseen changes, this was a year where I also encountered many new great people. One very meaningful experience was a journey that took me to the other end of Asia, to South Korea, a country and society that is still torn between the traumas and open wounds of a dark past and an uncertain future. The hospitality of the people in the country really touched me as it showed me that even in times of fear there is great hope for a renewal and an unbreakable sentiment of optimism. Everybody around the world should be aware of this great gift, the clarity of optimism and a change for the better.

Now it is time to thank all those who have visited or joined my blog, who have given me new inspiration and new ideas for my texts and postings, no matter where they come from. I am happy about the variety of people from cultures and nations all over the world who read my blog with interest.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the largest visting communities in their native languages:

A VERY PEACEFUL AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION TO EVERYBODY AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

EIN FRIEDLICHES UND FROHES WEIHNACHTSFEST UND LIEBEN DANK FÜR EUER INTERESSE

FELIZ NAVIDAD Y PAZ Y GRACIAS A TODOS POR VISITAR MI BLOG
